Alas, the rain was horizontal and drenching us right through, all fearful for the well-being of said new boots, yet hopeful, due to their new material 100% recycled PET plastics which don’t watermark, we wanted to share with you this tale  as a testimony of such claims!

After a day to dry out, with barely a brush down here they are again – totally free from water marks!  A miracle we hear you cry!!  No magic here, just the wonders of Dinamica recycled faux suede.

• Have breakfast in the 50’s café on Tidy Street called Rocka Fella – they do great vegan fry ups and wonderful smoothies.
• Stroll around the Laines and check out Snoopers Paradise for all sorts of bargains!
• The Laines offers a vast array of vintage stores and many have boyfriend sofa’s outside so you can get fully involved guilt-free.
• You will be passing Infinity Foods so a pop in may be called for incase you absolutely need a treat!
• Red Veg will be looming in a very powerful manner and be sure to get drawn in and have a red veg burger – we LOVE them!!! (Naughty but very nice!)
• If you’re not in the burger mood you have Infinity Foods Café further down Gardner Street so fret not!
• There are numerous cafes, some of which are vegan friendly, and many offer a multitude of indulgences.
• Stroll along the pier and dodge the seagulls!
• If you’re feeling decadent try the Treatment Rooms for a Rose facial – they are truly amazing, however you may not want to do anything else afterwards…
• For shopping, there is a fantastic womenswear boutique Sirene down from the station which offers stunning dresses with a quirky vintage feel.
• Another one of our favourites is i gigi in Hove near our studio on Lansdowne Place (heard there are some nice shoes to buy around there).
• If you would like to pop in for a shoe try on at BS HQ please give us a call first, but you are more than welcome!
• For an ale, check out the Hop Poles pub on Middle Street they have a very cute back garden and is close to the sea.
• Our new favourite place is Japanese bar Moshi Moshi makes the best veggie sushi ever!  Very LA feel to it.
• If it’s sunny you could whiz down to V-Bites for a brilliant vegan pizza and cake but check open first.
• Terre a Terre is the essential dining place for a romantic evening, you have to go here… remember to wear your Beyond Skin shoes whilst out and about!
• For a post-dinner drinky you could go to Valentinos for a very strong cocktail, or for something milder try a favourite, The Great Eastern Pub (opp The George Veggie Pub) on Trafalgar St down from train station.
• Party the night away at Komedia one of Brighton’s best venues.
• Treat yourself to a wonderful hotel experience at Blanch House right by the sea in Kemptown if you’re not staying here you can still pop in for a sneaky cocktail and have a gaze around.
• Wake up refreshed on Sunday and catch the little steam train along the sea front to the Marina for the Flea Market.  You will DEFINITELY pick something exciting up here guaranteed – be warned!  Sells everything and anything – certainly a flat shoe day!
• Try the George the only Veggie pub in Brighton for the best ever vegan Sunday roast before weaving your way home feeling full but refreshed.

Our newest excitement is an amazing new Italian manufactured Dinamica® recycled microfibre suede.  This ecological soft faux suede is made with 100%recycled plastic bottles (Fast Fact  *in 1 yard of suede there is an equivalent of 20 plastic bottles*).  Therefore reducing CO2 emissions into the air by 60%, compared to the regular process of making polyester from petroleum.  It also is super durable, easy to clean and oh yeah- looks amazing!!  Currently our vegan shoes are the first on the UK market to be made from this eco-friendly fabric which is used by Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover as car interiors.

There are many benefits from using this material such as this:

• Recycling post-consumer & industry waste

• Minimising carbon emissions – using non-leather & non-toxic material

• Less water usage to produce

• Longer lasting & more durable

We have searched high and low for an eco-friendly alternative to classic winter suede’s, and have finally discovered the most amazing fabric, made from recycled PET plastics by a brilliant Italian company, Dinamica. News just in, this very same fabric is being used for the interior of the new baby Range Rover. We are talking seriously soft, stain resistant, cruelty-free and no water marks!!
